Leslie Williams
Leslie Williams is an experienced Corporate and IP attorney with over 25 years of counseling clients on their domestic and international business transactions, with special emphasis on the needs of technology companies. Her expertise includes data privacy and sustainability policy. Leslie is a certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified Information Privacy Professional in U.S. law.
Leslie advises on a broad range of corporate transactions, the acquisition, strategic use of and enforcement of intellectual property rights in the U.S. and abroad, and the commercialization of technology, products, and services. She has long cross border experience between the U.S. and the EU, particularly Germany. Her industry knowledge includes semiconductors, software, and web-based applications and their data protection, medical devices, advanced ceramics, renewable energy, and green finance.
More recently, Leslie has advised firms on meeting their data privacy compliance with regard to e-commerce, children’s privacy, CCPA, and health data.
She offers counseling on climate action policy, nonfinancial disclosures with respect to ESG ranking, technology commercialization aimed at decarbonization, and carbon offset policy.
Prior to joining Intelink Law Group, she was a co-founder and partner of the IP and international business firm of Shaub & Williams LLP in West Los Angeles and Newport Beach, California. Earlier in her legal career, Ms. Williams practiced EU law with Squire Patton Boggs in Brussels, including competition, intellectual property and internal market issues. Throughout her career, she has continued to advise on EU law as it relates to her clients’ transactions.
Leslie is a director of Seed CG Inc, a California sustainability nonprofit, a director of Senate of the Economy, an affiliate of Senat der Wirtschaft (senat-deutschland.de), an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), and a member of the German IP Law Association (GRUR; grur.de).
Notable Representations
Represented a medical devices manufacturer with regard to corporate, contractual, and regulatory matters in the U.S., Canada and four major South American countries, including bilingual negotiations and contract drafting.
Represented a credit card processing company with regard to corporate restructuring, inter-company service agreements, employee and independent contractor agreements, including IP rights assignments, nondisclosure and non-compete obligations, cooperation agreements with Mexican partners.
Represented a large foreign firm on its acquisition of a US company, license and technology transfer agreements with US, Asian and other partners in the semi-conductor industry, litigation of aftermarket infringement claims.
Represented numerous clients on data privacy laws compliance in the U.S.
Defended with co-litigation counsel numerous European firms in federal and state litigation.
