Intelink Team Defeats Effort To Shut Down eCommerce Sellers

On November 27, 2021, a group of overseas eCommerce sellers asked for assistance defending against a lawsuit brought in the Northern District of Illinois, seeking a temporary restraining order to stop their businesses in the United States.

With a hearing set for December 2nd, an Intelink team including attorneys Ning Zhang, Jane Jaang and Yiqi Wang partnered with local counsel Wesley Johnson, to quickly assemble a defense for a group of over 100 defendants. Hours before the court hearing, the plaintiff attempted to dismiss our clients from the lawsuit in order to avoid having to face our defense. However, having inadvertently missed a few of our clients, we appeared at the hearing and argued forcefully for our clients. As a result, the Court fully dismissed our clients from the lawsuit, unsealed certain documents that the plaintiff’s attempted to conceal from public disclosure, and granted leave for our clients to seek recovery of their attorney fees from the plaintiff.
